4 Opportunities For Santa Monica Artists

SANTA MONICA, CA — Artists in Santa Monica are invited to participate in several contests, programs, residencies and grants this month.

Artists and entertainers are facing unique challenges during the pandemic with in-person performances on hiatus and more artists exploring virtual shows.

There are still plenty of ways for artists to keep creating and deadlines set for this month.

Here are five upcoming opportunities for artists in the Santa Monica area:

1. Camera Obscura Art Lab Call for Artists
   Deadline: 10/21/2114 - week studio residency at the Camera Obscura Art Lab in Palisades Park.
2. Department of Cultural Affairs Los Angeles: Current Opportunities
   Deadline: 10/30/20 - Four current calls including a fellowship, Artist-in-Residence, Design Competition and Photography RFQ.
3. Innovate Grant's Call for Artists + Photographers
   Deadline: 12/10/20 - Two $550 grants are awarded each quarter to one visual artist, and one photographer.
4. Passepartout Photo Prize (2nd edition)
   Deadline: 1/10/21 - A photography contest born to promote and widen the exposure of emerging photographers.
