Main Street business vacancies are increasing in the pandemic, but five retailers and restaurants are looking to hire.

SANTA MONICA, CA — Vacancies have increased along Santa Monica's Main Street amid the pandemic, but some restaurants and stores are still hiring.
More than 35 retail spaces have advertised for lease, and other stores are even pausing to reopen until the pandemic is over, the Santa Monica Daily Press reported.
But here are five retailers and restaurants that remain open and are hiring on Main Street.

Alfalfa, 2309 Main St., Santa Monica

Alfalfa is opening its first Santa Monica (and West Coast) location. The first Alfalfa is in Hoboken, New Jersey, and began at a farmers market.

The Santa Monica menu features salads, wraps, soups, broths, breakfast burritos and sweets such as Oreo and lavender doughnuts.
The restaurant plans to open soon and is hiring team members.

The Galley, 2442 Main St., Santa Monica
The Galley is the oldest restaurant and bar in Santa Monica, with tons of history and personality. It has offered its classic seafood and steak selection on Main Street since 1934.
