When: Work activities are scheduled as follows:

Realignment of Traffic Lanes and Installation of K-rail (Concrete Barriers)

Monday, March 18, 2013 - 9:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. (1 night only)

Installation of Piles

March 20, 2013 - April 30, 2013, (Night Work) 9:00 p.m. - 6:00 a.m.

Saturday Work Hours: 8:00 a.m. - 8:00 p.m.

Work Description:

Work activities will include the realignment of the traffic lanes on Pico Boulevard between West Gateway Boulevard and Sawtelle Boulevard. Crews will place K-rail (concrete barriers) to delineate work area and to protect work crews. Most construction activities will be limited to areas behind the K-rail on the Expo ROW.

Traffic Impacts:

• Pico Boulevard between West Gateway Boulevard and Sawtelle Boulevard will be reduced to one lane in each direction and left turns will be restricted throughout the construction zone during nighttime hours.
• All traffic lanes will be open to through traffic during daytime hours.
• Left turns to and from Purdue Avenue will be prohibited during bridge construction. 
• Electronic message boards will be used to update commuters as necessary.
• Directional signage and/or flagmen will be used to safely direct vehicles and pedestrians around the construction zone.
• Parking restrictions will be strictly enforced at all times and signage with specific restrictions will be in place in all construction areas.

Advisories: 

• Local access to businesses and residences will be maintained throughout all construction activities.
• Noise levels will be monitored to ensure work performed is within the necessary compliance levels.
• Work crews will water down the work area to minimize dust, sweep adjacent streets of debris as   needed, and the air will be monitored.
• Please obey all posted construction signs and do not enter the construction work zone.
