Applications Roll In To Fill Santa Monica Council Vacancy: Report

SANTA MONICA, CA — A total of 35 people have entered the ring in hopes of filling a vacant Santa Monica City Council seat, the Santa Monica Mirror reports.
The council seat was left vacant by the retirement of Kevin Mckeown, who was first elected in 1998, according to the publication.
The council was set to appoint a replacement in a Tuesday special meeting, but a special election could be held if the council fails to make an appointment.
