Big Blue Bus Changes Ahead?

At tonight’s Santa Monica City Council meeting, staff will recommend that the City hold a public hearing about a city recommendation that the Big Blue Bus local transfer system be eliminated on Jan. 1, 2014.

Other recommendations on the agenda include a modification to the BB fare policy by introducing SmartCards.

In addition, the Council will hear a recommendation that a public hearing be set up to approve the elimination of Route 11 in Feb. 2014, as well as approve the temporary truncation of Route 44 (the Sunset Ride) by eliminating service to Santa Monica College’s AEC Campus.
