SANTA MONICA, CA — A promotion for the TV series "The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel" snarled traffic Thusday on surface streets and the nearby Santa Monica (10) Freeway for hours during part of the morning commute. The promotion is offering gas for 30 cents a gallon at a Chevron Station in Santa Monica.

Police went to Lincoln Boulevard and Michigan Avenue to provide traffic control after motorists flocked to the location, according to the Santa Monica Police Department. Traffic was moving along again by about 10 a.m., police said.

Prices were rolled back to the year 1959, as depicted in the series on Amazon Prime Video, at several other businesses around town. Many also saw huge lines Thursday morning, including at the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel, where a one-night stay was being offered for $40.
