DUI, Loaded Gun Suspects Arrested, Police Say
Two suspects were arrested Saturday after residents reported possible prowling in the North of Montana neighborhood.
SANTA MONICA, CA — Two men were arrested on suspicion of DUI and carrying a loaded, unregistered gun after neighbors reported possible prowling in the North of Montana area early Saturday, according to Santa Monica Police Department.
Neighbors reported suspicious behavior and prowling in the 900 block of Georgia Avenue, near 9th Street, about 3 a.m. Saturday, police said.
Officers arrived and saw a vehicle leaving the area at a high rate of speed.

"The vehicle failed to obey several traffic signs and continued to be reckless until officers stopped it a short distance away," police said. "When officers made contact, the driver showed obvious signs of intoxication and inside the vehicle were open alcoholic beverages which led officers to conduct standardized field sobriety tests."
Officers recovered a loaded gun from the passenger in the car, police said.

Driver Marcos H. Chino, 19, from Los Angeles, was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence. His bail was set at $5,000 and he was released Saturday. His next court date is June 26 in Los Angeles.
Passenger Marcos J. Saquich, 20, from Los Angeles, was arrested on suspicion of carrying a loaded, unregistered gun. His bail was set at $20,000 and he was released Saturday. His next court date is June 21 in Los Angeles.
