Heat Advisory Issued In Santa Monica, LA Coast

SANTA MONICA, CA — Even though Monday’s Red Flag Fire Warning is no longer in effect, the National Weather Service has issued a heat advisory.

The advisory will be in effect from 11 a.m. until 7 p.m. Tuesday in Los Angeles, Malibu, Santa Monica, Beverly Hills, Long Beach, Orange County, and parts of Ventura County.

Santa Monica could see a high near 89 degrees Tuesday, according to the NWS.

On Tuesday, the NWS predicts that Beverly Hills temperatures are expected to rise to 93 degrees, but temperatures are expected to revert to the 70s and 80s for the rest of the week.

“Hot temperatures may cause heat illnesses to occur,” warned the National Weather Service. "Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors. Young children and pets should never be left unattended in vehicles under any circumstances.

“Take extra precautions if you work or spend time outside. When possible, reschedule strenuous activities to early morning or evening. Know the signs and symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke. Wear lightweight and loose-fitting clothing when possible.”

Today: Sunny, with a high near 89. East northeast wind 5 to 10 mph becoming southwest in the afternoon.

Tonight: Clear, with a low around 66. West southwest wind 5 to 15 mph becoming northeast after midnight.

Wednesday: Sunny, with a high near 82. Northeast wind 5 to 10 mph becoming south southwest in the morning.

Wednesday night: Clear, with a low around 63. Southwest wind 5 to 10 mph becoming east southeast in the evening.

Thursday: Sunny, with a high near 75. Calm wind becoming south southwest around 5 mph in the afternoon.

Thursday night: Mostly clear, with a low around 61.
