Help Stock Santa Monica's Food Pantry

Do you want to contribute to Santa Monica's Food Pantry? The city is looking for help to scale the program.

SANTA MONICA, CA — Santa Monica is inviting people to donate food items to the food pantry serving people who are facing food insecurity in the city, according to a city news release.

The city announced information Monday on how to get involved and help stock up the food pantry during the coronavirus pandemic.

"The Westside Food Bank provides over 13,000 pounds of both perishable and nonperishable food items to help us serve over 200 people per week, and we continue to explore capacity to scale up the program and expand food options to include more produce, shelf-stable dry goods and pre-packaged meals," according to the news release.

Any people or businesses who want to help donate food items are invited to visit the Coronavirus Donate page and scroll to the Food Pantry Donations section, according to the city.
