Man Booked For Assaulting a Police Officer and DUI
Peter Anthony Breceda Jr. attempted to walk away from Santa Monica Police and then began fighting with them.

On Aug. 22 at approximately 1:12 a.m. officers on patrol observed a vehicle stopped in the number one southbound lane of 20th St. with its hazard lights flashing.
As the patrol unit approached the vehicle from behind to determine why it was blocking the lane, a male subject exited from the driver’s seat. As he exited, he almost fell down and had to grab onto the driver’s side door for support.
Officers also smelled a strong odor of alcohol on the subject’s breath and that his eyes were watery and bloodshot. After having the subject sit down on the curb officers also noticed damage to the front end of the vehicle indicating it had been involved in a collision. At this point the California Highway Patrol (CHP) was notified.
