Man Charged In Residential Burglary; 2 Other Suspects At-Large
A 33-year-old man faces charges in a residential burglary last week in Santa Monica, authorities said. Two other suspects remain at-large.
SANTA MONICA, CA — The Los Angeles District Attorney’s Office has filed burglary charges against a 33-year-old man who authorities say was involved in a residential burglary in Santa Monica with two other suspects who remain at-large, according to the Santa Monica Police Department.
Officers responded to a home burglary system alarm about 4 a.m. June 5 in the 600 block of Marguerita Avenue, between 4th and 6th Street, police said.
When officers arrived at the home they found that two motorized go-carts were stolen from the garage, police said. They set up a perimeter in the area and saw a parked white Ford F150 truck with its engine running and the headlights off in a nearby alley.

Kenneth Dilks, 33, was inside the vehicle and officers contacted him, finding one of the stolen go-carts in the bed of the truck along with two bicycles.
The second go-cart was located nearby in the bushes, police said.

"Officers also located two backpacks in the rear passenger seat," police said. "One of the backpacks contained miscellaneous tools often used to commit burglaries. The other contained items that appeared to be stolen, including identification not belonging to the suspect."
Dilks was taken into custody and booked at the Santa Monica Jail. He was taken to Men's Central Jail. No bail was set. Dilks is scheduled to appear at LAX Superior Court June 17.
The Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office Tuesday charged Dilks with two counts of burglary and one count of grand theft.
Officers later discovered Dilks was accompanied by two other suspects who are still at-large.
Police described suspect #2 at a Latino man wearing a black beanie, orange jacket, blank pants and shoes. Suspect #3 is described as a Latino or white woman wearing a black sweatshirt with a white logo, black pants and shoes.
