Man Suspected Of Arson At Pizza Restaurant Arrested, Police Say
A 50-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of arson at a restaurant on Third Street Promenade this week, police said.

SANTA MONICA, CA — A 50-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of arson at a pizza restaurant on Third Street Promenade this week, according to the Santa Monica Police Department.
The fire was reported around 3:15 a.m. Monday at Stefano’s Pizzeria, 1310 3rd Street Promenade, near Arizona Avenue, police said.
The person who reported the blaze said he saw a man set fire to an umbrella that was leaning against the restaurant, police said. Officers arrived and saw the umbrella burning. They used a fire extinguisher to knock down the flames.

Dotan Davis, 50, was arrested on suspicion of arson. His bail was set at $50,000. His next scheduled court date is June 22.
"As officers detained Davis, they noticed he had a lighter torch in his hand," police said.
