Manilow Hospitalized After Surgery Complications; Concerts Canceled in South

The singer was flown to Los Angeles after complications from oral surgery. He had performed in Memphis on his final tour.

Barry Manilow was taken to a Los Angeles hospital as concerts concerts planned for Thursday and Friday were canceled due to complications from surgery, according to a posting on the singer’s Facebook page.

Manilow performed in Memphis this week, and following the performance he was “rushed back to Los Angeles due to complications from emergency oral surgery that Manilow had on Monday,” according to the statement.

The 72-year-old singer, famed for hits such as “Copacabana” and “Mandy,” canceled performances scheduled tonight in Kentucky and Friday night in Nashville.

“At this time it is unclear if Manilow will be able to attend the Grammy Awards on Monday, February 15th, where he is nominated for his 15th Grammy Award for his latest album, ‘My Dream Duets,”’ according to the statement.

Manilow’s tour has been billed as his last. It is scheduled to wrap up June 23 in London.
