Continuing construction on the Metro Expo Line bridge at Olympic and Cloverfield boulevards will force overnight street closures in the area for the next three to four weeks, beginning tonight, according to the Expo Construction Authority.

Tonight (Sep. 15) through Thursday night, Westbound Olympic Boulevard will be closed at 10 p.m. between Cloverfield and 20th Street, with the street scheduled to reopen at 6 a.m. the next day. The closure will last seven to 10 days.

When work in that area is finished, eastbound Olympic along the same stretch will be closed overnights for seven to 10 days, from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. Sunday through Thursday. When work is completed in that area, Cloverfield will be closed during the same hours, Sunday through Thursday nights, between Olympic and the Santa Monica (10) Freeway.

Work in that area is also expected to take seven to 10 days. Daytime traffic will not be affected by the work, during which crews will remove falsework and steel forms used for the light-rail line bridge, according to the construction authority.
