Musk Pushes For New Tesla Supercharger Station In Santa Monica
The city of Santa Monica could approve zoning plans this week that would allow a new Tesla Supercharger station.

SANTA MONICA, CA — Tesla's Supercharger station in Santa Monica could move forward if zoning is approved by the city council this week, officials told Patch.
The new site will be part of the discussion during Tuesday night's Santa Monica City Council meeting, and if approved, could bring more than 50 Tesla charging stations to the city near 14th Street and Santa Monica Blvd.
Tesla founder Elon Musk voiced support for the project and hopes to have a 1950s themed diner and movie screen at the site.

Tesla has a showroom in Santa Monica at 395 Santa Monica Place, near Broadway. Ten Superchargers are at this location, according to the company. The idea for a new Supercharger station sprung up in 2018 when Musk suggested that Tesla could add an old-school drive-in and restaurant in Los Angeles.
