Naked Man Arrested at Santa Monica Bus Stop

On Sept. 7 at approximately 1:15 a.m. officers were on foot at 3rd Street and Santa Monica Boulevard when they were flagged down by a woman who reported a male adult naked from the waist down on a bus bench a half block east of them.  

Officers responded and found a male homeless subject lying down nude.  When they tried to contact him, he ignored the officer's presence.  Officers tried to restrain his arms and the suspect stood up and tried to strike both officers by throwing punches.  One officer used his baton and struck the suspect one time in the upper leg.  The suspect then complied and was taken into custody without further incident.  

The suspect was cleared by medical personnel at a local hospital and later booked into jail for assault on a police officer, obstructing/resisting officers and violation of probation. Bail was set at $20,000.
