Jerry Rubin was a U.S. political activist and counterculture icon who helped organize massive protests against the Vietnam War. Born July 14, 1938 in Cincinnati, Ohio, Rubin also became an author, successful businessman and health drink network marketer. Rubin died after being struck by a car while jaywalking across Wilshire Boulevard in the Westwood section of Los Angeles just across the street from his residence.

At the public remembrance, fellow peace activists and friends of Rubin will share personal remembrances and stories and “discuss the similarities and differences between the 1960s peace movement and the peace movement of today.”
