Santa Monica Community Beach Cleanup Planned For This Weekend

Join the Santa Monica community for a beach cleanup Saturday at Lifeguard Tower 20.

SANTA MONICA, CA — Join the Santa Monica community Saturday for a cleanup at the beach.

It's hosted by Zer0 Debris, which leads and organizes cleanups, and coordinates sustainability events with the community. The group has held virtual events throughout the pandemic but this will be the first in-person event for 2021.

The cleanup is from 8 to 11 a.m. Saturday and meets at Lifeguard Tower 20, near Ocean Front Walk. Special guest Angie Rutan will lead a post-cleanup yoga session at 11 a.m.

People are required to wear a mask and bring water since it's expected to warm under the sun. Volunteers can also bring gloves but the group plans to provide latex gloves on the beach.

The next beach cleanup dates are scheduled for June 6 and July 10. To see more upcoming events and for more information, visit the website: www.zer0debris.org.
