Santa Monica Pier To Honor Kobe, Lakers NBA Championship

SANTA MONICA, CA — The Ferris wheel at Pacific Park on the Santa Monica Pier will be illuminated in purple and gold to recognize NBA champions the Los Angeles Lakers and late legend Kobe Bryant.

The Pacific Wheel will feature animations of purple and gold hearts, along with the words "Go Lakers" and the numbers 8 and 24 in memory of Bryant, who died in a plane crash earlier this year.

The display will begin at sunset, or about 6:30 p.m.
