SANTA MONICA, CA — The Santa Monica Pier will reopen this weekend following recent closures due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, city officials announced Wednesday.

The closure is now lifted and people can head back to the pier beginning Saturday.

The move to reopen the pier this weekend follows the relaxed Los Angeles County Public Health orders.

Restaurants can also begin to open Friday, however, health officials are urging the public to continue taking precautions, including wearing masks and social distancing.

Pacific Park at the Santa Monica Pier remains closed.
