Sea Lion Caught By Fisherman On Santa Monica Pier: VIDEO

SANTA MONICA, CA – A fisherman on the Santa Monica Pier briefly hooked a sea lion Thursday night, as seen on videos posted to social media. The video was recorded and posted to Snapchat around 10 p.m. by Kye Cruz, according to CBS2, and shows a small group of people watching the incident unfold.

The hook briefly got stuck in the sea lion's mouth before it was freed and swam away as the fisherman was cutting the line, Cruz told CBS2. The Los Angeles County Fire Department told CBS2 it did not receive any calls regarding the incident.
