ShopHouse Santa Monica Location Opens Next Week

The second West Coast incarnation of the ShopHouse Southeast Asian Kitchen will open at Third Street Promenade on Thursday, according to a release from Chipotle Mexican Grill, the parent company of ShopHouse.

Hollywood was the site of the first ShopHouse location and functions in similar fashion to Chipotle, in which customers can select the various ingredients and construct a custom meal. The menu is "influenced by traditional ingredients, flavors and cooking techniques of Southeast Asia, and the restaurant gets its name from traditional shophouses, a common form of architecture in Southeast Asia in which families live upstairs and operate restaurants or fresh markets on the ground floor."
