SigAlert Pileup Snarls Westbound 10 Freeway In Santa Monica

Two lanes of the westbound of the Santa Monica (10) Freeway were shut down Friday afternoon.

SANTA MONICA, CA — A multiple-vehicle pileup closed two lanes of the Santa Monica (10) Freeway near Lincoln Boulevard in Santa Monica, triggering a SigAlert Friday afternoon.

The westbound side of the freeway was backed up for miles due to the lane closures, and the California Highway Patrol expected the lanes to remain closed for at least a half-hour. The crash happened at about 2:30 p.m., blocking the 3 and 4 lanes, according to the California Highway Patrol.

At least one vehicle sustained major damage in the crash.
