Target Santa Monica Broadway Opens

SANTA MONICA, CA — The new Target Santa Monica Broadway is officially open downtown, company officials told Patch.

The small-format store at 420 Broadway is among two new locations opening in Los Angeles, including the new Hollywood Galaxy location at 7021 Hollywood Blvd. Grand openings at both locations are planned for Sunday.

The company aims to bring an easy, safe and convenient shopping experience to the local community, officials announced.

The new store includes a CVS pharmacy, grocery selection with fresh produce, apparel and accessories for adults, home decor and essentials, along with health and beauty products.

People can also place drive-up and pick up orders, including groceries, and have these items brought to their cars, according to the company.

The new locations in Santa Monica and Hollywood are part of the company's push to open small-format stores in cities.

"Nationwide, Target is reaching new guests by opening small-format stores in urban areas, dense suburban neighborhoods and near college campuses – places where a full-size Target store may not fit," the company said.

With the addition of the Santa Monica Broadway store, Target now operates more than 140 small-format stores, with more than 1,900 Target stores nationwide as of March. About 55 people will work at the Santa Monica location.

"Our team works diligently to understand the neighborhood and local guests our new stores serve and build assortments that will best fit those guests’ needs and preferences, while still delivering an experience that’s fully Target," the company said in a statement.

Target now has 116 stores across Los Angeles County.

The Santa Monica Broadway store is open from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily.
