Woman Charged with Defrauding Blue Plate Taco Restaurant

It's true. There is no such thing as a free lunch.

On Sept. 18 at 3:30 p.m.  a woman entered the Blue Plate Taco restaurant at 1515 Ocean Ave., and, according to witnesses, purchased $65.70 in food, ate the food, and left without paying.

The subject left the restaurant, got into a taxi cab and was driven around Santa Monica until the cab driver became suspicious of the subject and drove her back to the restaurant.

The subject did not have the money to pay the cab driver ($41.25 fare) and the police were called.  She was arrested for defrauding an innkeeper.
