Woman In Multi-Vehicle Crash On 10 Freeway Identified

A 40-year-old woman who died in a multi-vehicle crash Wednesday was identified.

SANTA MONICA, CA — Officials Monday identified a woman who died in a multi-vehicle crash on the eastbound Santa Monica (10) Freeway in Santa Monica.

Nadine Gonzalez Tupou, 40, died at the crash about 10 p.m. Wednesday near Centinela Avenue, according to the California Highway Patrol and the Los Angeles County coroner's office.

The crash prompted a SigAlert on eastbound lanes for several hours during an investigation before it reopened early Thursday, CHP reports.

It's unclear what caused the crash. At least one person was trapped in a vehicle, a witness told CHP.
