5 Kittens And 1 Cat Left In Box Outside Santee Fire Station

Six cats abandoned outside the fire station were handed over to the San Diego Humane Society — and all were given fire inspired nicknames.

SANTEE, CA — Five kittens and one cat were left in a cardboard box outside a firestation in Santee Nov. 19. The cats are now being cared for by the San Diego Humane Society, NBC San Diego reported.

The white cats, five 7-week-old kittens and one 6-month-old cat, were unharmed and dropped off at the humane society's 24-hour Kitten Nursery, according to NBC San Diego.

The kittens have been named Chief, Blaze, Ember, Cinder and Smokey, inspired by their dropoff at the fire station. The cats are now currently in foster homes.
