The young man from Campo was traveling to Alpine to pick up his great-grandmother, authorities said.

BOULEVARD, CA: The name of a 18-year-old Campo youth killed when his car crashed and fell into a deep canyon in East County was made public Sunday.
James Robert Will was on his way to pick up his great-grandmother in Alpine in the early morning rain Friday. But he was killed when his car hit a bridge railing, spun and went off a bridge above La Posta Creek, just west of Boulevard.
Will was traveling on westbound Interstate 8 in an 2004 Acura TSX and lost control of the car, which crashed into a bridge railing along the right shoulder, spun into the center median and launched down an embankment according to the CHP.

The car rolled several times as it careened down a hill, ejecting Will, who was not wearing a seatbelt.
The CHP said an officer responded to the wreckage at about 1 p.m. Friday. Will had been scheduled to pick up his great-grandmother at 6 a.m. and his family was searching the roue for the overdue youth.
