SANTEE, CA — A crash involving multiple vehicles caused a chemical spill and shut down traffic late Wednesday afternoon in Santee.
The non-injury accident happened at the intersection of Mission Gorge and Cuyamaca Street.
Authorities shut down Mission Gorge Road between Cuyamaca Street and Town Center Parkway as Hazmat crews worked to clean up the scene, according to the San Diego County Sheriff's Department.

A Sig-alert was issued for the area.
"Please heed traffic control directions from deputies and avoid the area if possible," officials said.

Sheriff's officials expected the closure to last up to three hours.
