SANTEE, CA — A man was seriously injured in a rollover crash Sunday night in Santee, authorities said Monday.

The crash happened around 9:30 p.m. near Costco on Town Center Parkway, said San Diego County sheriff's Sgt. Michael Tingley. The driver was trapped inside the rolled over Jeep SUV, which blocked the northbound lanes of Town Center Parkway.

Firefighters rescued the trapped driver and paramedics took him to Sharp Memorial Hospital. The 40-year-old suffered several facial fractures, a broken jaw and several lost teeth, Tingley said.

The crash also damaged a light pole, a tree and shrubs in the median.

Alcohol was a suspected factor in the crash, Tingley said.
