Rafiki is Your Rancho Coastal Humane Society Pet of The Week

Rafiki is pet of the week at your Rancho Coastal Humane Society. He’s a 4 year old, 15 pound, male, Domestic Short Hair cat.

He was very shy when he was transferred to Rancho Coastal Humane Society through the FOCAS (Friends of County Animal Shelters) program. All Rafiki wanted to do was hide in his enclosure.

When he went into private foster care, it took him a few days to understand that he was in a safe place. After that he made friends with his care providers and showed them that he’s a very social, loving cat.

That makes his name perfect for him. Rafiki means “Friend.”
