Santee Resident Wins Big On 'The Price Is Right'
Cheyanne Yeats appeared on Thursday's episode of the longest-running game show in television history.

SANTEE, CA — A Santee resident had the chance to “come on down” and won big on “The Price Is Right” this week.
Cheyanne Yeats, who has been living in Santee for the past three years, appeared on Thursday's episode of the longest-running game show in television history, winning a total prize pool worth $54,224.
“I still can’t believe I’ve won,” the 28-year-old cheer coach told Patch ahead of the episode airing. “I wasn’t sure if I was gonna go [to the show] that day because of the long drive to LA. Thank goodness I did.”

Yeats first got on stage by bidding $99 lower than her opponents, winning two tablets. In the next round, she played a progressive game, called “More or Less,” in which she had to guess whether the actual price of each retail item (camera, air hockey table, three-wheel scooter and a brand-new Hyundai Elantra) was higher or lower than the price tag. And she won them all.

“I used basically the audience’s help,” remarked Yeats. “They were pretty much unanimous on whether the [actual] prices were higher or lower.”

Yeats then got to spin the wheel and won an extra $1,000 after getting exactly $1.00, which gave her the chance to move on to the “Showcase Showdown.”
“I remember I was just so excited, jumping to joy with my cousin, when I found out I was going to play the Showcase,” said Yeats.

Then, in the showdown, her wildest dream came true when she had the closest guess on the retail price of the grand prize, winning a new watercraft, a three-night getaway to Huntington Beach and a brand-new Chevy Sonic LS.
“It has definitely been a crazy ride for me,” Yeats said. “I encourage everyone to try their luck and get on the show. It’s fun, full of energy. And Drew Carey is wonderful and very engaging.”
