SANTEE, CA — When times are tough, heroes emerge. We all know someone who's making a difference right now as we live through unprecedented and changing times.
Here at Patch, we've launched an initiative to help recognize these heroes making a difference in their communities. Together with Ring, we're working to let all your neighbors know about these outstanding people and their stories.
This submission comes from Theresa Bozhor, CEO and founder of Momentum Tutoring in Santee. She nominated local teacher Michelle May, who also serves as the human resource manager of Momentum Tutoring.

Reason for recognition: Michelle May deserves to be recognized as a local hero for her dedication to mentoring the community. Michelle is a special education teacher at Carlton Hills School. She dedicates her spare time to working as the human resource manager at Momentum.
One thing to know: She is tough as nails with a heart of gold.
