Air District Issues Air Quality Alert For Thursday

If you can, bike, walk, carpool. Spare the Air!

BAY AREA, CA – A Spare the Air alert has been issued in the Bay Area for Thursday because of unhealthy air quality that could especially affect small children, seniors and people with respiratory or heart conditions, Bay Area Air Quality Management District officials said.

The alert is the 17th of the summer season, air district officials said.

Vehicle exhaust is the main source of Bay Area air pollution during the summer months, so air district officials are asking people to drive less, drive an electric vehicle or travel on foot, bike or transit.
