SARATOGA, CA — The Montalvo Arts Center is opening "Threads: Weaving Humanity," featuring interactive art activities, live dance performances and refreshments on July 19 starting at 6 p.m.

The free Arts on the Grounds festival displays new works on view by artists Hellen Ascoli, Yasmin Jahan Nupur, Sudnya Shroff and RoCoCo, which uses braiding, stitching, patching and mending as a metaphor for weaving the threads of our diverse communities into a shared social fabric.

The performances presented through a partnership with Sangam Arts will include Calpulli Tonalehqueh, San Jose Taiko, New Ground Theatre Dance, Xpressions and Yang Yang Dance.
