The charity event is this afternoon before the game against Colorado Rockies.

SAN FRANCISCO -- Junior Giants players from all over the state will attend a special event to receive baseball gloves before today's San Francisco Giants game, according to the Giants Community Fund.

Giants catcher Buster Posey will host 1,000 players at the Glove Giveaway event at AT&T Park at 3:15 p.m. prior to the 7:15 p.m. game against the Colorado Rockies.

Posey will donate new Rawlings gloves and a ticket to tonight's game to each of the players in attendance, fund officials said.

Posey said in a statement, "The Glove Giveaway is a fantastic event with a great cause to help kids with the tools they need to have a fun and active season. I am always honored to be a part of it."

In addition, Giants broadcaster Duane Kuiper will moderate an exclusive question and answer session for all of the attendees.
