Like all Pet Food Express’, this location is philanthropically focused, said spokesman Mike Murray. It will work with a local shelter to host adoption events and pet supply drives.
While the new location has not lined up a specific shelter partner yet, the most likely candidate is the neighboring Silicon Valley Animal Services in Campbell, he said.

Situated on 7250 square feet, the Saratoga store will take the place of a former dry cleaner and picture frame shop, said Murray. It will also have a solar-powered self-service pet wash.
There are currently 43 Pet Food Express stores spread throughout Northern California, with a 44th opening its doors in Millbrae this Saturday.
Saratoga is in need of a large-scale pet supply store like Pet Food Express, said Debra Cummins, president of the Saratoga Chamber of Commerce. “We don’t have a big pet store close to Saratoga,” she said.
Currently, Saratoga Village boasts one boutique - The Pawsh Pet - but not a store that has such a wide variety of all sorts of pet supplies, such as those for lizards and hamsters.
Saratogans are very pet-friendly, said Cummins, pointing out that the Silicon Valley Development Council hosts a pet parade in Saratoga Village every summer.
The Mountain Winery also offers a few events every year for locals to wine and dine alongside their furry friends.
“Saratogans love their pets,” she said.
