Lights Display Illuminates Art Scene At Montalvo Center
The exhibit "Bruce Munro at Montalvo:: Stories In Light" is something to see at the Montalvo Arts Center in Saratoga Hills.
SARATOGA, CA -- Multi-hued waves, cascading beams, seas of light -- the Montalvo Arts Center has installed 10 light works from world renowned artist Bruce Munro through March 17.
The native London artist is best known for his large-scale, light-based artworks inspired largely by his continuous study of natural light and his curiosity for shared human experiences. In some respects, he shadows the writing of C.S. Lewis, who spent a lifetime as a scholar penning how love and religion fit into our world. Lewis is best known for his children's stories -- the "Chronicles of Narnia," which Munro was inspired by.
When Munro was approached to create the exhibit for Montalvo, he was captivated by the grounds as resembling a house and garden that are featured in one of the writer's books: "The Voyage of the Dawn Treader," so the partnership was a good fit.

"Bruce Munro at Montalvo is the most ambitious impactful exhibition Montalvo has ever presented," Executive Director Angela McConnell said.
The center located at 15400 Montalvo Road expects tens of thousands to see the exhibit. The aim is to elevate Saratoga as a prestigious purveyor of the national and international art scene. Think Christo in the desert.
