Missing Hikers Rescued From Sanborn County Park
The hikers were found at about 9 p.m. Sunday evening through a multi-agency, coordinated effort. No one was hurt.

SARATOGA, CA -- Two missing hikers are lucky to not have spent Sunday night in Sanborn County Park as a coordinated effort located the youth after a distressing cell phone call was made at 7:28 p.m. They were found along Sanborn Road near the park west of Saratoga about about 9 p.m.
The Santa Clara County Fire Department and Sheriff's Office were dispatched to the area of Skyline Boulevard and Black Road, with assistance by Cal Fire, Santa Cruz County firefighters
and Santa Clara County parks employees.
The search took rescue crews up Skyline and John Nicholas trails around Lake Ranch Reservoir.

The California Highway Patrol sent up a helicopter deployed a handheld thermal imaging camera that allows users to see in the dark.
The hikers' parents confirmed that two were lost.

Authorities warn that recent rains have made trails hazardous and low temperatures increase the risk of exposure. Hikers should check trail conditions before leaving, dress appropriately for the conditions, hike in groups, have reliable communications and allow plenty of time to exit trails before dark
