Dr. Brian J. Nettleman, born June 29, 1942, passed away on Easter Sunday, March 31, 2013.

He was the beloved husband of Lynda, his high school sweetheart, loving and active father of Jared and Barrett, brother of Robert (Mari Beth), Bruce (Dora) and Paul (Florence) Nettleman and uncle to many nieces and nephews.

For the past 40 years, Brian had a successful orthodontics practice in Saratoga and San Jose, and was the man behind thousands of straight-toothed smiles in the area.

He completed his doctorate of dental surgery in 1967 and orthodontic certification in 1973 at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor.

A Captain in the United States Air Force, he was stationed at Offutt Air Force Base near Omaha, NE, from 1967 until 1969, and moved to Saratoga in 1973.

Originally from Eaton Rapids, MI, Brian was a rabid fan and die-hard supporter of the University of Michigan (Go Blue!) and for many years had the Michigan Fight Song as his cell phone ringtone.

Brian's free time was spent on sports trips with his boys, golfing at the La Rinconada Country Club, skiing in Tahoe, and volunteering at the Saratoga Federated Church.

He is a member of the American Association of Orthodontists, Pacific Coast Society of Orthodontics and the Saratoga Education Foundation.

A memorial service took place at 2 p.m. Friday, April 5, 2013 at Saratoga Federated Church, 20390 Park Place, in Saratoga.

Internment at Rosehill Cemetery Eaton Rapids, MI.
