Obituary: Saratoga Resident Beverly DeLisle

Devoted mother and friend died July 24, 2013 at the age of 87.

Beverly W. (Baker) DeLisle passed peacefully from this earth in her home of 59 years with family at her side.

She was born Aug. 10, 1925 and raised in Los Gatos and graduated from Los Gatos High School in the class of '42.

It is here that she met her husband, Warren (Bud) DeLisle, to whom she was married for 66 years until his death in 2009.

She is also preceded in death by her son David and daughter Denise. She is survived by her daughter Susan (Mac), "other daughter" Kitty Roche and sister, Pat (Roche). Affectionately known as addled aunt or AB, she is also survived by her nieces and nephews David, Jan, Chris and Mary.

Bev was full of life, love and laughter. She devoted herself to her family and gave generously of her time and energy to friends and community.

A lifelong Girl Scout, she received numerous honors and awards for her tireless and outstanding work spanning 30 years and as one of the most successful Santa Clara county cookie chairs ever.

She also served for 20 years on the auxiliary of the Los Gatos community hospital.

An ardent Giants fan, Bev coached her team to two world championships and attended her last game in June.

She loved the redwoods, fondly remembering her days camping in Big Basin and Yosemite.

Bev was an unapologetic and lifelong Democrat and supported many causes reflective of her strong values.

An informal remembrance and celebration of her life will be held at her Saratoga house on Aug. 17. Call 408-255-8457 for directions and details.
