Saratoga Natural Gas Leak Shut Off By PG&E; Evacuations Lifted

PG&E stopped the leak on Saratoga Sunnyvale Road near Spring Blossom Court when a construction crew struck it while digging.

SARATOGA, CA —Firefighters were dispatched Thursday at 11:39 a.m. to the scene of a natural gas leak where Saratoga Sunnyvale Road and Spring Blossom Court meet, the Santa Clara County Fire Department reported.

A natural gas line was struck and ruptured by a construction crew digging in the area, the fire agency added.

The leak that prompted the evacuation of residences has been shutoff by Pacific Gas & Electric, which also sent crews to the scene where four residences were threatened. Crews will remain on the scene as a precaution.
