Burglary Suspect Arrested With Drugs, Stolen Motorcycle: SCSO
Officials said a records check revealed that the motorcycle had been stolen earlier that day during a residential burglary in Santa Cruz.
SANTA CRUZ COUNTY, CA — A Santa Cruz County sheriff's deputy pulled over and arrested a driver Saturday night on suspicion of multiple offenses, including burglary. According to sheriff's officials, the deputy pulled over a truck in Boulder Creek that had a vintage blue BSA motorcycle in the bed.
The deputy contacted the driver, identified as Matthew Wilkey, and noticed that he tried to discard some methamphetamine and heroin. A records check revealed that the motorcycle had been stolen earlier that day during a residential burglary in Santa Cruz. The deputy also found evidence inside the truck that linked Wilkey to the burglary, sheriff's officials said.
Wilkey was arrested and booked into Santa Cruz County Jail on suspicion of burglary, vehicle theft, and drug-related offenses, sheriff's officials said.
