Man Arrested In Connection With Santa Cruz County Shooting
Deputies said the suspect and the victim argued about a vandalism before the shooting.

SANTA CRUZ COUNTY, CA — A Santa Cruz County man was arrested Friday in connection with a shooting in Boulder Creek that left another man injured. James Campos, 32, was arrested on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon, according to the Santa Cruz County Sheriff's Office.
On Friday around 3 a.m., deputies were dispatched to a victim of a shooting that had arrived at the Boulder Creek Fire Station. The shooting occurred earlier on Bear Creek Canyon Road near Bear Creek Road.
Deputies said the suspect, identified as Campos, and the victim had gotten into an argument over a vandalism that had occurred. Campos, who was armed with a rifle, shot at the victim, striking him in the leg.

The victim fled the area, was brought to the fire station for medical assistance and was transported to the hospital with injuries that were not life threatening. Deputies located Campos, and he was arrested without incident.
