New Scotts Valley Fire Engine Has Better Clearance, Can Make Sharper Turns
Earlier this year, the department welcomed the 400-horsepower No. 2512.

The Scotts Valley Fire Department has welcomed a new engine they say is a perfect fit for imperfect Scotts Valley roads: the No. 2512.
Its 400-horsepower engine is an improvement over the 330 horsepower one generated by its predecessors, reported the Scotts Valley Press-Banner.
It also includes lowered storage compartments that make hoses, ladders and other rescue equipment more accessible to firefighters.

It provides greater clearance for handling steep driveways and other geographical hazards, and features settings that allow it to make sharp turns and maneuvers. It can also perform sharp turns at speeds of up to 35 miles per hour.Â
