Scotts Valley Woman Arrested Following High-Speed Pursuit: CHP
The CHP said the chase lasted ten miles and went through Santa Cruz into unincorporated Santa Cruz County.

SANTA CRUZ COUNTY, CA — A 28-year-old Scotts Valley woman was arrested in Santa Cruz County after a high-speed pursuit Wednesday night, the California Highway Patrol reported. Maggie Rochelle Simmons was driving a 2016 Ford Focus on state Highway 1 near Soquel Drive when the CHP tried to make a traffic stop for a cellphone violation.
The CHP said Simmons allegedly sped up and led officers onto state Highway 17, where she crashed into another car near Pasatiempo Drive and continued driving. When she attempted to drive the wrong way on Highway 17 near Vine Hill Road, CHP officers forced her to stop with a patrol vehicle maneuver.
The total pursuit was about 10 miles through Santa Cruz into unincorporated Santa Cruz County.
Simmons was arrested on suspicion of felony evading, hit-and-run causing injury, driving on a suspended license and having drug paraphernalia.
