SEE: Hwy 17 DUI Driver Crashes Into Fence, Pole, Tree, Police Say

"The driver will get some time to count their blessings in a holding cell," police said.

SCOTTS VALLEY, CA — An intoxicated driver emerged from a Highway 17 crash on Thanksgiving without serious injuries, police said.

The driver crashed through the fence along the highway and sheared off a light pole, which landed upside down in a tree, according to a post from the Scotts Valley Police Department. The car stopped moving after its passenger side crashed into a tree on Meadow Way, police said.

The car appeared to sustain significant damage.
