Star Wars: The Force Awakens - Tickets on Sale, Including Marathon Screenings
Watch the new, and final, Star Wars trailer released Monday. Check the list of area theaters showing the seven-film Star Wars marathon.

Star Wars: The Force Awakens opens in theaters Friday, Dec. 18. The film’s producers made several big announcements Sunday:

- There’s a new promotional poster
- A new trailer premiered during Monday Night Football
- Tickets went on sale Monday
- Marathon screenings of all seven films will run in select theaters
Billed as “the ultimate fan experience,” the marathon Dec. 17 will include all seven movies. The first six films will be screened in 2D, before the opening of Star Wars: The Force Awakens in 3D. Guests will also receive a lanyard featuring exclusive movie marathon art.
On Fandango, Star Wars: The Force Awakens ticket buyers will be automatically entered into a sweepstakes for the chance to win a trip to the film’s world premiere. Ten runners-up can win a collectible “Dark Side” or “Light Side” prize pack.

Demand was so great for tickets on Monday that some ticket sites crashed. Presale records have been shattered in the U.S. and some other nations. A few theaters report being sold out into the new year.
