Twitter Tweets Help Identify Bird In Santa Cruz County
A visiting bird was identified by posting the photo on Twitter.
A small red bird appeared at the water fountain in the patio area of the Summit House near Patchen Pass on the Santa Cruz County side of Highway 17.
The avian traveler was photographed and tweeted about on Twitter with the photo. The bird is possibly a House Finch, which is uncommon in the area. One Twitter member suggested a Purple Finch which is less common.

Santa Cruz County has many visitors during the year. The finch is also welcomed.
