Vegetation Fire Erupts In Santa Cruz County

The fire was reported around 1:30 Sunday.

SANTA CRUZ COUNTY, CA -- A vegetation fire erupted Sunday afternoon in Santa Cruz County. Cal Fire reported the fire around 1:30 p.m. near 23050 Hutchinson Road.

Cal Fire said the blaze was one-fourth an acre with a slow rate of spread.

The fire comes amid a red flag warning issued by the National Weather Service due to a combination of strong winds, low humidity and warm temperatures, conducive to extreme fire danger.
